I know there are a million different things to do on Grand Theft Auto V, but I seem to spend most of my time modifying cars at one of the Los Santos Customs shops dotted around the map.Unlike most games where you actually have to buy cars, GTA allows you to simply steal one, modify it and hide it away in your garage. That said, if you leave them somewhere where they’re not saved, you’ll either see it go or have to retrieve it from the car impound. Most vehicles can be pimped in some way, but some offer more customisation than others. Here are five of the best cars to blow all your money on. DEWBAUCHEE MASSACROTwo cars on GTA look like Aston Martins, and the Massacro is the bigger and faster one.
The DB9 over the Vantage. You can turn this car (and many other GTA supercars) into a proper racing car very easily, and it’ll look the business prowling through Vinewood Hills. Almost every part of this car can be upgraded, ending up with a car that could quite happily rock up to a GT3 race.I’ve added all the goodies, including a stonking rear wing, side skirts, huge front splitter, vented fenders, a roof scoop, titanium exhausts and a rear diffuser.
It’s not all show and no go though – all the engine internals are massively upgraded too. Bet you couldn’t beat it in a race. VULCAN WARRENERGTA features a few cars that can be turned into proper JDM-style drifters. There’s the Karin Intruder sedan and Futo coupe – an AE86 in all but name, and shown in the header photo – but there’s also one you might not have considered. The Vulcan Warrener looks pretty mundane to begin with, but I believe it’s based on one of the original four-door Nissan Skylines. Take it to the garage and you can come out with lots of additional bits that turn it into a touge-bashing hero. A ducktail spoiler, tow hooks and a Bosozuku-like front end are some of the modifications done to this car, and it’s sitting on lovely four-spoke El Quatro wheels. IMPONTE PHOENIXClassic cars are very good to modify.
May 31, 2019 - Fastest Lap Time. 6th: Pegassi Zentorno - 1:00.960. 5th: Pegassi Tempesta - 1:00.803. 4th: Overflod Autarch - 0:59.960. 3rd: Ocelot XA-21 - 0:59.927. 2nd: Annis RE-7B - 0:59.727. 1st: Dewbauchee Vagner - 0:59.194. 6th: Dewbauchee Vagner - 126.75 mph. 5th: Progen Itali GTB Custom - 127 mph.
While many of you will probably have tuned the Vapid Dominator (aka the Ford Mustang), I’ve picked another muscle car to customise. The Imponte Phoenix seems to be based on a 70s Camaro or Firebird, and is one of the very best muscle cars to choose if you want to spend all of your dollars in LS Customs. There’s no subtlety in the one I’ve tuned up – I reckon a car like this needs a goalmouth spoiler, large front bumper and an enormous chromed bug catcher sticking out the bonnet. I doubt you’d be able to see anything else apart from that from behind the wheel, but I’m not sure you’d want to!
BENEFACTOR FELTZERThe Feltzer doesn’t really need any modification, because it’s pretty aggressive as is. Based on a Mercedes SL65 AMG Black Series, it already has widened arches, a rear diffuser, side exit exhausts and a carbon fibre splitter.Despite that, you can make it look more hardcore by speccing a spoiler similar to the real life DTM car, bumper canards and fender vents.
Under the bonnet, no expense has been spared. Every upgrade for the engine has been added, even though they spend most of their time sat in the garage.
VAPID SANDKING XLThis one should defo have those awful truck balls attached. There aren’t too many SUVs that you can modify the living daylights out of, but the Vapid Sandking XL is one of them. It was bloody enormous before I added anything, and now it has extra fuel tanks, roll cages and a tasteful chrome front bumper and bull bars combination. The standard off-road wheels looked a bit on the small side, so I’ve changed them for diamond cut Sport wheels that are almost the size of most cars. I reckon the yellow paint gives it a Hennessey VelociRaptor feel, and I only chose the blue second colour to show you how you can modify it.
Thing is, I actually quite like it. Help!If you want a car to pour lots of virtual money into on GTA, these are among the best. After all, there’s nothing worse than stealing (or even buying) a car and finding out you can’t really do much to it.Although, most cars can have their engines and transmissions upgraded if you’re after that sleeper status. What are the best/worst modifications you’ve done to a car on GTA? Stick them in the comments below – pics or it didn’t happen!

Personal racing garage heavily influenced by and also personal preferences. Also what I would recommend for friends when asked. That sheet is also the source for all the lap times and 'cost to race' numbers.Compacts: Brioso R/ACoupes: ZionMotorcycles: Hakuchou Drag (and Hakuchou) - Separate section at the bottom for Haku Drag and Shotaro comparison. If you need something for the really fast tracks (highway, airport, etc. With no slow corners), Hakuchou will most likely win (5mph higher top speed than Drag). If you don't have that much money, go for Bati. Please note: You need to lean forward with Haku Drag to go faster, other, it goes faster even if the front wheel touches the ground.Muscles: Sabre Turbo Custom (Benny's version) (and Dominator RC) - Imo Sabre is easier to drive but due to being a 'lowrider' it can be bit flunky with curbs and also rear might get away if you give it too much gas in corners instantly. Dominator RC has higher top speed which makes it faster on high speed tracks.Off-Roads: BF400 (and Sandking SWB or XL) - BF400 is dominant in Off-Roads class.
Sandking for those occasional obstacle tracks you might do. Non-Bike alternative: Desert Raid or Trophy Truck, Raid has 0.13s better lap time, Trophy has 0.5mph higher top speed. Essentially same car, get what you think looks better.Sedans: Schafter V12Sports: Elegy RH8 / Jester RC / Massacro RC (and Seven-70) - Pick 1 or pick all 3 (4), Elegy has mad grip but lacks top speed where Massacro RC will be better.
If you want only one, I'd say Massacro RC. Seven-70 has higher top speed than Massacro so it will be better on those high speed tracks. Lap time comparison at the end of this comment.Sport Classics: Stirling GT (and Z-Type or Monroe) - Stirling GT has high traction (with the spare wheel) and high acceleration. Z-Type/Monroe for the more higher speed tracks, completely personal preference if you want to have one.Supers: RE-7B and/or X80 (and 811) - 811 has highest top speed in the game (Same as 900R but 900R gets slower laptime).
Biggest difference between 7B and X80 is the top speed, X80 has 5-6mph higher top speed than 7B. Tempesta gets pretty much same lap time as X80 but doesn't have as high top speed but it's only half of the X80's price. There is a lap time comparison between top supers later on this list. For stunt races X80 is overall the best car.SUVs: ContenderUtility: SadlerVans: Gang Burrito or Rumpo CustomFew notes about vehicle upgrades:.ALWAYS buy all the best performance upgrades even if the acceleration bar is max'd out, it will still give you more power;.If there is custom spoiler, use it.
Spoiler adds more traction, more traction = faster lap times. Stirling GT's spare wheel counts as a spoiler. Some new bikes have non-clear 'spoilers', some get more traction from custom headlight cover or belt drive cover. AFAIK, the stock spoiler that some cars have, doesn't give the traction boost.
Note: Custom spoiler not required on RE-7B, Tyrus, ETR1, Omnis or other vehicles that have High tyre sidewallCars that will benefit from using tyres with high tyre sidewall (handles curbs and little bumps etc.
